Sofia Kälvemark Sporrong is an Associate Professor in Social Pharmacy at the University of Copenhagen and holds a concurrent position as a Professor in Social Pharmacy at Uppsala University in Sweden. She earned her PhD in social medicine from Uppsala University, focusing on professional ethics and moral distress in healthcare. Her research interests encompass pharmaceutical policy, pharmacy practice, drug communication, and the health care professions. Currently, she investigates pharmacy practice ideologies, the societal implications of new technologies, and methodologies related to qualitative research. Prof. Sporrong collaborates with various universities, healthcare providers, authorities, and companies across Denmark, other Nordic countries, and Europe, including Ethiopia. In recognition of her significant contributions to the field of medicines in society, she received the Rune Lönngren prize in 2019. She teaches courses such as "Understanding Patient Perspectives on Medications," aiming to enhance the understanding of patient involvement in medication management.
