Simon Murphy

Simon Murphy specializes in analyzing data from the Kepler Space Telescope to investigate the interior structure of stars. By employing a technique known as asteroseismology, he studies stellar oscillations, drawing parallels to how seismic activity helps us understand Earth’s interior. His research interests also extend to discovering new binary stars and planets, utilizing these findings to enhance our understanding of star and planet formation. Beyond his academic pursuits, Simon enjoys cycling, soccer, and engaging in board games, showcasing his diverse interests both in and out of the lab.
