Shi Yong, born in November 1980, is a prominent professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Astronomy and Space Science at Nanjing University. A member of the National Thousand Talents Program, he earned his Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Arizona in August 2008. Following his doctoral studies, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the same institution before conducting further postdoctoral research at the California Institute of Technology from September 2009 to February 2013. Since joining Nanjing University in March 2013, Professor Shi has successfully led four observation projects utilizing NASA space telescopes, including the Spitzer Infrared Space Telescope and the Herschel Far Infrared Space Telescope. Additionally, he has managed numerous ground-based telescope observation projects across various wavelengths, both domestically and internationally. Professor Shi has published over 30 papers in prestigious journals, including more than 15 as the first author in international core journals, with one notable paper published in Nature as the first author and corresponding author. He has also contributed as a reviewer for leading international journals and has delivered invited speeches at numerous significant scientific conferences.
