Sheila Cohen Zimmet

Sheila Cohen Zimmet serves as Senior Associate Vice President for Regulatory Affairs at Georgetown University Medical Center, bringing a unique combination of nursing and legal expertise to her role. After earning her BSN from Georgetown's School of Nursing and JD from Georgetown Law Center, she began her career as a neonatal intensive care nurse before transitioning to healthcare law and research ethics. Her distinguished career includes serving as Georgetown University's Research Integrity Officer, Conflict of Interest Officer, and Associate Dean for Research Integrity at Weill Cornell Medical College. Her national service includes a four-year term on the Advisory Council of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and two terms on the National Center for Research Resources Advisory Council. As an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Faculty Associate in the Georgetown University Center for Clinical Bioethics, she frequently speaks on research ethics and compliance at local, national, and international professional meetings, drawing from her extensive experience in both clinical care and healthcare law.
