Serena Yeung

Dr. Serena Yeung is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Data Science at Stanford University, with additional appointments in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. She also serves as the Associate Director of Data Science for the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine & Imaging and is affiliated with Stanford’s Clinical Excellence Research Center. Dr. Yeung's research focuses on developing advanced algorithms in computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning to interpret a wide range of visual data, including medical images, cell microscopy, and video captures of human behavior. Her innovative work aims to enhance the application of AI in healthcare settings.In addition to her research, Dr. Yeung is committed to education and has publicly released lectures on deep learning in computer vision that have garnered over a million views online. Before her current role at Stanford, she was a Technology for Equitable and Accessible Medicine (TEAM) Fellow at Harvard University. Dr. Yeung has also contributed to national discussions on artificial intelligence as a member of the National Institutes of Health's Advisory Committee to the Director Working Group on Artificial Intelligence.
