Leading French Baroque Revivalist Champions 17th-Century Music
Sébastien Daucé, born in Rennes in 1980, has established himself as a pioneering force in French Baroque music revival. As founder and artistic director of Ensemble Correspondances, which he established in Lyon in 2009, he has dedicated his career to reviving the rich yet underexplored French sacred and secular music of the 17th century. A gifted organist and harpsichordist trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon, Daucé directs the ensemble from keyboard instruments while maintaining residencies at prestigious venues including the Théâtre de Caen, Château de Versailles, and the Louvre Museum. His scholarly approach to performance practice, combined with innovative programming and meticulous reconstructions like "Le Ballet Royal de la Nuit," has earned him international acclaim, resulting in seventeen recordings for harmonia mundi and numerous awards including the Diapason d'Or and Echo Preis. Beyond performance, Daucé contributes significantly to Baroque music scholarship through his editorial work, articles, and teaching, having served at the Pôle Supérieur de Paris and as guest artistic director of the London Festival of Baroque Music
