Dr. Scott Ramsay holds a PhD in Molecular & Cellular Biology from the University of Glasgow, where he has been actively involved in teaching undergraduate tutorials and laboratory sessions from 2007 to 2012. Currently serving as the Deputy Head of Student Learning Development, he has also taken on roles such as Good Practice Adviser in learning and teaching and Effective Learning Adviser for students in the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences (MVLS). Dr. Ramsay coordinates several credit-bearing modules, including 'Intro to Communicating Science' and 'Rationality and Scientific Debate,' and contributes to transition courses for incoming undergraduates. He is the co-author of Writing for Science Students, which won Book of the Year 2018 by the Academic Booksellers' Association, and Writing a Science PhD. Additionally, he serves as Secretary of ScotHELD, the professional network for Scottish Higher Education Learner Developers.
