The National University of SingaporeDr. Satveer Kaur-Gill currently serves as Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, following her roles at the National University of Singapore. Her research focuses on critical health communication and health disparities, particularly among migrant workers and marginalized communities. After completing her PhD in Communication and New Media from the National University of Singapore, she has built an impressive career examining health inequalities through a culture-centered approach. Her scholarly impact is evidenced through numerous publications on topics ranging from digital ethnography to migrant health communication, with her work on COVID-19's impact on migrant workers gaining significant attention. As a Fulbright Scholar at UC Berkeley and Yale Fox Fellow, she has earned notable recognition including the NCA Doctoral Honors and Early Career Award. Her research spans multiple areas including health communication, migrant health, social change, and cancer communication, with particular emphasis on using participatory approaches to understand health disparities among vulnerable populations. Through her work at the Center for Culture-Centered Research and Evaluation, she continues to advance understanding of health inequities while advocating for community-centered approaches to health communication.
