Professor Sang Xinmin, affectionately known as "Seeking the Teacher's Way," is a retired educator from Nanjing University, where he served as the founding director of the Institute of Networked Learning and Management. He is recognized as the first national-level teaching master in mainland China and is a doctoral supervisor in education. Additionally, he is a part-time researcher at the National Education Development Research Center of the Ministry of Education and a member of the expert committee for the National Primary and Secondary School Teachers' Information Technology Application Ability Improvement Project. His research focuses on educational philosophy, learning science, learning technology, innovative teaching models in digital environments, and educational informatization. In 2001, he led a teaching reform experimental project titled "Theoretical and Practical Exploration of Cultivating College Students' Learning and Innovation Ability in Multimedia and Network Environment," which received the first prize for national university teaching achievements. His online course, "Theory and Practice of Learning in the Information Age," was recognized as one of the first national-level quality courses in 2004. His influential monograph, "Calling for Educational Philosophy in the New Century," published in 1993, was honored as an "Academic Work with Important Influence at Nanjing University since the Reform and Opening Up" in 2008, while "Learning Science and Technology" garnered the first prize for outstanding achievements in Jiangsu Province in 2005. Appointed as a doctoral supervisor in education at Beijing Normal University in 1996, Professor Sang has mentored 33 doctoral students across various disciplines, many of whom have become leaders in educational research and teaching. Over the past 30 years, he has taught courses such as "Philosophy of Education," "Learning Science and Technology," and "Educational Technology," fostering a community of learners who support innovative course development. Through platforms like Coursera and other online course offerings, Professor Sang aims to expand the reach of his teachings and cultivate a vibrant, cross-cultural learning environment.
