Salvatore Strano, born in Vico Equense, Italy on November 26th, 1980, is an Associate Professor of Applied Mechanics and Railway Vehicle Dynamics at the University of Naples Federico II. His academic journey includes an M.S. degree in mechanical engineering (2005) and a Ph.D. in mechanical systems engineering (2009), both from the University of Naples Federico II. His expertise spans across condition monitoring for railway and road vehicles, energy harvesting systems, mechatronic devices, and real-time hybrid simulations. As an accomplished researcher, he has authored over 100 papers in prestigious international journals and conferences, with significant contributions in areas such as seismic isolators, vehicle dynamics, and intelligent tire systems. His work has garnered substantial recognition in the academic community, with numerous citations in scientific literature. He maintains an active presence in academia through his service on editorial boards of international scientific journals and conferences, while also advancing research in hardware-in-loop platforms and mechanical systems modeling.
