Prof. Dr. Sabine Roeser is a prominent Professor of Ethics at Delft University of Technology, where she heads the Ethics and Philosophy of Technology Section within the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management. Her extensive research delves into foundational topics such as moral knowledge, intuitions, emotions, and the evaluative aspects of risk, while also addressing pressing public issues like nuclear energy, climate change, and public health. Roeser has developed a metaethical theory called "affectual intuitionism," which integrates ethical intuitionism with a cognitive understanding of emotions, arguing that emotional responses can provide valuable insights into ethical considerations surrounding technological risks. She has published numerous articles and co-edited several influential books on these subjects, contributing to over 200 academic talks and receiving competitive funding for various research projects. In addition to her academic contributions, Roeser actively engages in public discourse and serves on multiple advisory committees related to nuclear energy and climate policies. Recently honored as a Knight of the Order of the Lion of the Netherlands for her significant contributions to ethics in technology, Roeser's work continues to shape the intersection of ethics and technology in both academic and societal contexts.
