Delft University of TechnologyRohan Varma serves as a doctoral researcher and tutor at TU Delft's Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, while also leading REP, an architecture studio with offices in Mumbai and Amsterdam. After graduating from KRVIA Mumbai, he gained valuable experience working with Charles Correa on significant projects including the Champalimaud Centre in Lisbon and the Aga Khan Ismaili Centre in Toronto. As a Tata and Mahindra Scholar, he completed his Master's in Architecture with honors at TU Delft under Prof. Dick van Gameren, followed by work at Mecanoo Architecten on international projects. His doctoral research, supervised by Prof. Dick van Gameren, Prof. Rahul Mehrotra, and Dr. Nelson Mota, focuses on affordable housing design and delivery in rapidly urbanizing Indian cities. His contributions to architectural education were recognized with the 2022 edX Prize for Exceptional Contributions in Online Teaching and Learning for the Global Housing Design course. He has authored numerous publications on housing and urban development, including co-authoring 'Living Ideals' and co-curating an international exhibition on Charles Correa's housing designs. As a visiting professor at KRVIA Mumbai and tutor at TU Delft's Global Housing Study Centre, he continues to bridge academic research with practical architectural solutions for affordable housing challenges.
