Dr. Roberta Ruggiero holds an MA in Law, an MA in Human Rights and Democratisation, and a Ph.D. focused on the Promotion and Protection of Children’s Rights. She is a Senior Research and Teaching Associate at the University of Geneva’s Centre for Children's Rights Studies, where she also serves as the scientific coordinator for the Master of Advanced Studies in Children's Rights and the Summer School ‘Children at the Heart of Human Rights’. Previously, she was the scientific coordinator of the European Network of National Observatories on Childhood (ChildONEurope) at the Istituto degli Innocenti from 2008 to 2013, and she has lectured at the University of Padua and served as an external professor on children’s rights at the University of Molise in Italy. Dr. Ruggiero has also conducted research at the IOM Europe Office and UNICEF-Innocenti Research Office. Her research interests include children's rights within the EU legal framework, independent national human rights institutions for children, and comparative childhood governmental policies, contributing significantly to the understanding and implementation of children's rights across various contexts.
