Robert Kosowski currently serves as Head of the Department of Finance and Professor of Finance at Imperial College Business School, advancing from his previous role as Associate Professor. After earning his BA (First Class Honours) and MA in Economics from Trinity College, Cambridge University, and MSc and PhD from the London School of Economics, he has established himself as a leading expert in asset management and financial economics. His research spans asset management, machine learning, risk management, and hedge funds, earning multiple accolades including the European Finance Association Best Paper Award and the British Academy's mid-career fellowship. From 2017 to 2021, he served as Head of Quantitative Research at Unigestion, and his earlier career included positions at Goldman Sachs, Boston Consulting Group, and Deutsche Bank. Through his roles as research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research and associate member of the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance, he continues to shape financial research while maintaining significant advisory positions, including serving as specialist adviser to the UK House of Lords and expert technical consultant for the International Monetary Fund
