University of PennsylvaniaRobert Bird is a prominent academic who serves as Professor of Business Law and holds the Eversource Energy Chair in Business Ethics at the University of Connecticut, where he has been teaching since 2004. With a J.D. and MBA from Boston University, Bird has established himself as a leading expert in compliance, employment law, legal strategy, and business ethics. His scholarly impact includes over seventy academic publications in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Law and Economics and the American Business Law Journal. Throughout his career, Bird has earned sixteen research-related awards, including the prestigious Kay Duffy Award for Extraordinary Service from the Academy of Legal Studies in Business, the ALSB best international paper award, and the Holmes-Cardozo best overall conference paper award. His academic leadership includes serving as editor-in-chief of the American Business Law Journal (2012-13) and as past president of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business. Before joining UConn, he served as an Assistant Professor at Seton Hall University, worked as a law clerk at the Connecticut Appellate Court, and taught as an adjunct professor at Fairfield University.
