Rick Hurst

Rick Hurst serves as Technical Curriculum Architect at Amazon Web Services, bringing nearly three years of experience at AWS and extensive background in technical training and software development. Following his role as an AWS Senior Technical Trainer, he now collaborates with curriculum team leaders to develop technical training materials, including labs, code exercises, and bootcamps. His expertise ensures course content is appropriately tailored for different audience levels. Before joining AWS, he worked as a freelance technical trainer and FullStack software developer, specializing in video content creation, custom curriculum development, and both online and in-person enterprise software training. Beyond his professional work, Hurst maintains an active interest in software development projects, music (guitar), and virtual reality through his Oculus Rift. He is also dedicated to martial arts, actively training in Full Contact Taekwondo and preparing for both tournament competition and his black belt examination.
