Richa Gupta

Dr. Richa Gupta earned her Ph.D. from IIT Delhi in 2020. She holds an M.Des. in Industrial Design from IDC, IIT Bombay (2013) and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIIT Jabalpur (2011). She has conducted collaborative research at IUPUI, USA (2017–18) and TU Darmstadt, Germany (2012). As a Project Scientist at AssisTech Labs, IIT Delhi, she contributed to award-winning translational research projects including SmartCane, DotBook (Braille laptop for the visually impaired), TacRead, OnBoard Bus Identification System, Accessible Graphics Design, and a Multi-Modal Braille Learning Device. Dr. Gupta is a recipient of the Stanford Ignite Global Innovation Fellowship, Visvesvaraya PhD Fellowship, and JENESYS Fellowship. She was also awarded the Chairman’s Silver Medal at IIIT Jabalpur. Her research interests include perceptual foundations of design, inclusive design and accessibility, modern prototyping, and multi-modal interaction design.
