Ravishankar Ramaswamy

Dr. Ravishankar Ramaswamy serves as an Associate Professor in the department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he shapes the future of geriatric medicine education. As co-director of the Ambulatory Care-Geriatrics clerkship for third-year medical students, he develops innovative curricula and assessment methods for geriatrics competency. His excellence in medical education earned him the American Geriatrics Society's outstanding mid-career clinician educator award in 2022. Dr. Ramaswamy leads assessment development for Aquifer Geriatrics, the national online geriatrics curriculum for health professions students, while serving on key AGS committees. His commitment to addressing healthcare disparities was recognized through the Building Trust and Equity in Internal Medicine Training grant program, focusing on combating ageism in medical education. Beyond his educational leadership, he maintains an active clinical practice at the Martha Stewart Center for Living and Mount Sinai's inpatient services, specializing in evidence-based medicine, medication management, and falls prevention for older adults.
