Raphaël Lamotte

Raphaël Lamotte is a PostDoctoral researcher at the Urban Transport Systems Laboratory at EPFL, where he completed his Ph.D. in November 2018 under the supervision of Professor Nikolas Geroliminis. He holds an Engineering degree from Ecole Centrale Lyon (France) and a M.A.Sc. from Concordia University (Canada). His research focuses on understanding and managing urban traffic congestion, particularly examining departure time choices and demand management strategies. His doctoral thesis made significant contributions to understanding rush-hour traffic patterns, revealing that commuters with longer travel distances are more likely to adjust their schedules to avoid peak congestion
