Dr. Rahul Nandkishore is an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Colorado Boulder and the Director of the Center for Theory of Quantum Matter. He earned his Ph.D. from MIT in 2012 and subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science. Since joining CU Boulder in 2015, he has focused his research on a variety of topics within theoretical physics, including non-equilibrium quantum dynamics, exotic phases of matter, and many-body localization. His contributions to the field have been recognized with prestigious awards, including fellowships from the Sloan and Simons Foundations and Young Investigator awards from the U.S. Department of Defense. In addition to his research, Professor Nandkishore teaches courses such as "Modern Topics in Condensed Matter Physics" and "Phases of Matter: Solid, Liquid, Gas and Beyond," where he engages students with advanced concepts in physics. His work has significantly impacted areas like statistical physics and condensed matter theory, particularly regarding graphene and Dirac semimetals. With over 250 published papers and numerous patents to his name, Dr. Nandkishore continues to influence both academic and practical aspects of physics through his innovative research and commitment to education.
