Università di Napoli Federico IIRaffaele Giglio serves as Full Professor of Italian Literature at the University of Naples Federico II and Director of "Critica Letteraria," a journal he co-founded with Pompeo Giannantonio in 1973. His research spans multiple periods of Italian literature, with particular focus on Dante's Commedia, 18th and 19th-century Southern Italian literature, and the relationship between literature and journalism. As curator of the "Lectura Dantis Neapolitana" series, he has made significant contributions to Dante studies through three comprehensive volumes of commentary. His academic leadership includes serving as Director of the Department of Modern Philology and President of the Scientific Committee of the Vittorio Imbriani Foundation, where he oversaw the publication of Imbriani's complete works. Through his directorship of "Critica Letteraria," he continues to advance Italian literary scholarship while fostering dialogue between traditional and contemporary approaches to literary criticism.
