Rachel Whittington holds a BVSC and MRCVS and is a Senior Lecturer in Professional Skills at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at The University of Edinburgh. After graduating from Bristol in 1988, she spent 15 years in small animal practice, including 11 years running her own veterinary practice. Following the sale of her practice, Rachel worked with VetFocus, a veterinary business consultancy, where she provided advice on business management to veterinary practices. She joined the R(D)SVS in March 2007 and now focuses on enhancing the employability of graduates by leading the professional skills course across the curriculum. Rachel teaches the course EDIVET: Do you have what it takes to be a veterinarian?, which prepares aspiring veterinarians for their future careers by equipping them with essential professional skills needed in the veterinary field. Her extensive experience in both clinical practice and education makes her a valuable asset to the veterinary training community.
