IIT DelhiProf. Sachin Kumar is an Associate Professor at IIT Delhi, working at the intersection of biomaterials, biomechanics, and bio-optics. His research explores how the mechanical, chemical, and physical properties of biomaterials influence cellular behaviour, with applications in cancer progression, stem cell differentiation, tissue regeneration, and cellular metabolism. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biotechnology from M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology and earned his PhD in Biomaterials from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. He was awarded the prestigious Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellowship to conduct research at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Germany, followed by postdoctoral research at The University of Texas at Austin, USA. Prof. Kumar joined IIT Delhi in 2021, bringing strong global research expertise to advanced biomedical engineering and materials science initiatives.
