Professor Raymond W. Yeung is a leading figure in the Department of Information Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he holds the esteemed Choh-Ming Li Professorship. He earned his BS, MEng, and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from Cornell University between 1984 and 1988. After beginning his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories, he joined CUHK in 1991 and has since made significant contributions to the fields of information theory and network coding, serving as Co-Director of the Institute of Network Coding since 2010. Prof. Yeung is the author of influential textbooks, including "A First Course in Information Theory" and "Information Theory and Network Coding," which are widely adopted by institutions globally. His research has garnered numerous accolades, including the Croucher Senior Research Fellowship and multiple best paper awards. He has played an active role in the academic community, serving on editorial boards and organizing major conferences. As a Fellow of both the IEEE and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Professor Yeung continues to advance knowledge and innovation in information engineering on an international scale.
