Her extensive expertise spans multiple areas including English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), and e-learning environments. Her leadership in the field is evidenced by her roles as former President of EUROCALL (European Association for Computer-Assisted Language Learning) and current President of WorldCALL. Her research contributions include pioneering work in digital storytelling, online courseware design, and language learning technologies, with over 1,000 academic citations. As head of the CAMILLE Research Group, she has developed innovative approaches to language learning, including the InGenio authoring system. Her academic impact extends to co-authoring eight multimedia courses for Spanish and English language learners, while her recent research explores emerging technologies in language education, including mobile learning applications and virtual learning environments.
