Her academic credentials include a medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, a Master of Science in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Emergency Medicine residency at Brown University's Alpert Medical School, and International Emergency Medicine fellowship at Harvard University/Brigham and Women's Hospital. Her research focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, covering areas such as mass casualty management, trauma training, Ebola response, pediatric illness, and sexual reproductive health, with particular emphasis on refugees and internally displaced persons.
