École Polytechnique Fédérale de LausannePatrick Poncet is a geographer and entrepreneur who holds a Ph.D. in geography and Habilitation to Direct Research (HDR). His academic career includes teaching positions at Paris 7, Lille 1, Rennes 2, Paris 1, Sciences Po Paris (2005-2010), and EPFL (2015-2017). He developed the concept of "spatial intelligence" as a unified theory of geography, combining scientific knowledge with practical applications. In 2009, he founded MapsDesigners and QualCity, merging these spatial communication and consulting firms in 2017. His work spans academic research, consulting, and cultural projects, including museum exhibitions and cartographic design. Currently an associate researcher at the Spatial Intelligence Chair of the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France, he contributes to both theoretical geography and practical applications through his work on spatial communication and territorial development
