Patrick Kor

Dr. Patrick Kor serves as Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where he combines his clinical expertise with innovative research in gerontological nursing and caregiver support. His research portfolio spans cognitive impairment, mindfulness interventions, and nursing education, earning him numerous prestigious recognitions including the Distinguished Educator in Gerontological Nursing award and the QS Stars-Wharton Reimagine Education Award. As Program Leader for the Master of Nursing program, he has secured over HKD 8 million in external funding for research projects, particularly focusing on mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for dementia caregivers. His groundbreaking work includes developing modified mindfulness interventions that have shown significant positive impacts on caregiver stress reduction and psychological well-being. Beyond his research accomplishments, he maintains active involvement in various leadership roles including the School Learning and Teaching Committee and Research Activity Exercise working group, while continuing to advance the field through publications in high-impact journals and serving on the editorial board of BMC Geriatrics.
