University of California, BerkeleyPanos Kapotas serves as Reader in Equality and Human Rights Law and Associate Head for Research and Innovation at the University of Portsmouth Law School. His research spans equality law, European law, human rights law, and employment law. His influential work includes co-editing "Building Consensus on European Consensus" (Cambridge University Press, 2019) and publishing extensively on labor market reforms and employment relations during economic crisis. His scholarship has made significant contributions to understanding positive action and equality in European context, notably through his work "Gender quotas in politics: The Greek system in the light of EU law". Recently, he has expanded his academic influence through international collaborations, including co-authoring "Teaching Law Across Six Continents" and contributing to "Human Dignity and Democracy in Europe". His expertise is regularly sought by institutions like the Academy of European Law, and he has testified before UK parliamentary committees on Brexit's implications for equality rights. Since 2020, he has served on the Leadership Team of the Working Group on Equality and COVID-19 at the Berkeley Center on Comparative Equality & Anti-Discrimination Law, while maintaining his role directing the PhD programme at Portsmouth's Law School
