Olivier Delbard has been a professor at ESCP Europe since 1991, currently teaching in the Department of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences at the Paris campus. As the coordinator for sustainable development at ESCP Europe, he leads various programs and projects related to sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). After earning his Doctorate at the University of Paris IV Sorbonne in 1995, where he focused on environmental ethics in the Anglo-Saxon world, Olivier shifted his research towards ecology and environmental issues in the United States, publishing numerous articles and book chapters. His work later expanded to Europe, exploring comparative and intercultural approaches to environmental policy and CSR, and extended to developing countries, particularly in Africa, where he examined fair trade as a driver of sustainable development and broader North-South cooperation. In recent years, his research and teaching have concentrated on sustainability challenges and CSR, culminating in his 2009 book Pour une entreprise responsable – Comment concilier profits et développement durable ?, where he analyzed the new social and environmental responsibilities confronting businesses today. He obtained his Habilitation to Supervise Research in 2010 and co-directs the M2 specialization "Management, Innovation Sociétale et Développement Durable." He is also the scientific director of a continuing education program on sustainable development and CSR. His current research focuses on the strategic and macroeconomic implications of sustainable development and the responses of stakeholders, including governments, businesses, and civil society, to these pressing issues. Olivier has published extensively, including a bilingual Dictionnaire de l’environnement et du développement durable (2005, 2011) and Prospérité contre écologie ? L’environnement dans l’Amérique de G.W. Bush (2006). He is involved in various academic and professional networks and juries (ADERSE, AFEA, EABIS) and also has interests in cultural and creative industry management and business ethics in the Anglo-Saxon world. Olivier is an elected member of the European Teaching Committee at ESCP Europe.
