Delft University of TechnologyOlindo Isabella currently serves as Full Professor in Photovoltaic Technologies and Applications at TU Delft, where he also heads the Photovoltaic Materials and Devices group since January 2019. His academic progression at TU Delft includes roles as Assistant Professor (2013-2017), Associate Professor (2017-2021), before his promotion to Full Professor in July 2021. His expertise spans RF PE-CVD, PVD, RF Sputtering, and various advanced characterization techniques. After receiving his PhD cum laude from TU Delft in 2013 for his work on light management in thin-film silicon solar cells, he has made significant contributions to the field of photovoltaics, including research on novel solar cell structures and light management techniques. His research has led to several breakthrough developments in photovoltatronics, combining intelligent PV and digital technologies to maximize electricity generation. He has authored numerous publications in prestigious journals, contributed to two scientific books, filed three patent applications, and developed innovative concepts for cell-level power management in PV modules. His work extends beyond academic research through his management of the Lab course on photovoltaics, providing students with practical experience in photovoltaic systems while advancing the field through his leadership in both research and education.
