OLC and SURR

The Open Learning Campus (OLC) and Social, Urban, Rural and Resilience (SURR) represent key World Bank Group initiatives focused on development learning and sustainable communities. The OLC serves as the World Bank's comprehensive learning platform, transforming global knowledge into actionable learning through three schools: WBx Talks for quick multimedia learning, WBa Academy for in-depth e-courses and MOOCs, and WBc Connect for peer learning and expert engagement. The platform is led by Sheila Jagannathan as Head of OLC, with content development supported by experts including Perinaz Bhada-Tata and a team of World Bank advisors. Their work includes significant publications like "What a Waste 2.0," authored by Silpa Kaza, Lisa Yao, Perinaz Bhada-Tata, and Frank van Woerden, which provides comprehensive data on global solid waste management trends through 2050. The initiative combines SURR's expertise in building sustainable communities with OLC's innovative learning approaches to address critical development challenges, making World Bank knowledge accessible to partners, practitioners, policymakers, staff, and the public worldwide.
