Waseda UniversityNoriyuki Aoki serves as Professor of Civil Law at Waseda University School of Law, where he has established himself as a leading expert in property law, mortgage law, and secured transactions since joining the faculty in 2005. His research focuses on comparative studies of civil law systems, with particular emphasis on Japanese property law and secured transactions. As a member of the Committee of Secured Transactions Law Reform in the Legislative Council of the Ministry of Justice Japan, he plays a key role in shaping Japanese legal policy. His academic journey includes visiting scholarships at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Columbia Law School, enhancing his comparative law perspective. At Waseda, he teaches comparative property law to international students in the LL.M. program on Asian Economic Integration and Law.
