The Hong Kong Polytechnic UniversityDr. Norbert Gronau serves as Professor and Chair of Business Informatics, Processes and Systems at the University of Potsdam. After studying mechanical engineering and business administration at TU Berlin, he earned his doctorate in 1994 focusing on strategic management information systems. His career includes leading the Production-Oriented Business Information Systems group at TU Berlin until 2000, followed by heading the Department of Business Information Systems at the University of Oldenburg (2000-2004). Since 2004, he has held the C4 professorship at the University of Potsdam. His research interests encompass Industry 4.0, digital technologies, knowledge management, and business processes. As a Research Fellow at Stellenbosch University and founder of Potsdam Consulting Advisory GmbH, he bridges academic research with practical applications. He is a member of the German Academy of Technical Sciences (acatech) and serves as editor of "Industrie Management" journal, demonstrating his commitment to advancing both theoretical and applied aspects of business information systems.
