Nando Timmer

Nando Timmer serves as a Lecturer and Research Engineer in the department of Aerodynamics, Wind Energy and Flight Mechanics & Propulsion at TU Delft's Faculty of Aerospace Engineering. His research has significantly impacted the wind energy industry, with approximately 50% of large wind turbines worldwide incorporating his DU airfoils or their derivatives in their blades. As the scientific director of the wind tunnel laboratories at the Aerospace faculty, he specializes in the design and wind tunnel testing of wind turbine dedicated airfoils. His teaching portfolio includes aerodynamics and wind energy courses, and he coordinates the 2nd year System Design project. He also serves on the organizing committee for the Design Synthesis Exercise, the faculty's bachelor final project.
