A Pioneer in Community-Based Rehabilitation and Elderly Care
Ng Yuk-mun serves as Head of Allied Health at The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation (HKSR), where she has made significant contributions to rehabilitation services for over 26 years. As a pioneering community-based physiotherapist, she has transformed aged care rehabilitation in Hong Kong through innovative service models and multidisciplinary approaches. Her expertise spans preventive care, rehabilitation, and wellness, with particular focus on developing comprehensive stroke rehabilitation programs. She currently collaborates on cutting-edge projects like SmartRehab, an AI-powered rehabilitation platform for stroke patients, and contributes to professional education through teaching hydrotherapy and health management at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Beyond her clinical work, she holds key positions in professional organizations, serving as Secretary of the Community-based Rehabilitation and Primary Health Care Working Group, Treasurer of the Aquatic Physiotherapy Working Group in the Hong Kong Physiotherapy Association, and Committee Member of the Exercise Is Medicine-HK Advisory Board. Her extensive professional development includes certifications in aquatic rehabilitation and AiChi, demonstrating her commitment to advancing rehabilitation practices through innovative approaches.
