Ms. Zinat Hassan: Scholar Advancing Research in Refugee Rights and Humanitarian Policy

Her academic foundation includes two master's degrees: one in Islam and Global Affairs from Hamad Bin Khalifa University and another in Conflict Management and Humanitarian Work from the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. Her research focuses on international refugee law and humanitarian intervention, with significant contributions to understanding Syrian refugee repatriation processes. She has demonstrated her academic leadership through developing a comprehensive syllabus on International Refugee Law that bridges HBKU's Islam and International Affairs Program with UNHCR initiatives. Her work "Roadmap to Syrian Refugees Repatriation" examines the challenges and guarantees needed for safe and voluntary refugee return. Her research interests encompass conflict management, political science, international relations, and human rights, with particular emphasis on humanitarian interventions in the Middle East and North Africa region
