Wageningen University & ResearchMiia Häkkinen completed her Master's degree in Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University & Research in August 2022, specializing in ecotoxicology and aquatic ecology. Building on her BSc in Biology, she combines academic expertise with practical experience in nature conservation, including work as a divemaster in underwater conservation in Tenerife. Her Finnish countryside upbringing has shaped her passion for connecting people with nature, which she demonstrates through her support of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation. Currently serving as Coordinator for Nordic Working Group for Chemicals, Environment and Health in Helsinki, she brings together her academic knowledge of ecological and environmental systems with practical experience gained through traveling and exploring different cultures. Her expertise in aquatic ecosystems and environmental conservation is complemented by her active outdoor lifestyle and commitment to scuba diving, reflecting her dedication to understanding and protecting natural environments.
