Michihiro Kandori is a prominent economist known for his significant contributions to game theory. He currently serves as the President of the Game Theory Society. Kandori earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University and has held academic positions as an Assistant Professor at both the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton University before joining the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tokyo, where he is now a University Professor. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, and his influential papers on social norms (1992) and evolutionary game theory (1993) have collectively garnered over 5,000 citations according to Google Scholar. His research continues to explore various aspects of game theory, including repeated games, matching and market design, and behavioral economics.
