Michelle Yik is a Professor in the Division of Social Science at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where she has been teaching since 2002. She holds a PhD in Social/Personality Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Michelle teaches courses such as Psychology & Everyday Life and Personality Psychology, where she applies her research to enhance students' understanding of human behavior, particularly in the Chinese context. Her teaching excellence has earned her several accolades, including the Humanities and Social Science Teaching Award in 2007, the Michael G. Gale Medal for Distinguished Teaching in 2010, and a finalist spot for the University Grants Committee Teaching Award in 2011. She is currently involved in two MOOCs, Psychology of Personal Growth and My Favorite Lectures @ HKUST.
