Michelle Telfer

Dr. Michelle Telfer is a Certified Nurse Midwife and an Assistant Professor specializing in midwifery and women’s health at the Yale School of Nursing. She also holds a faculty position in the Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Telfer is a Fellow of the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM) and serves on the Education Committee of the Division of Global Engagement at ACNM.She earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Frontier Nursing University, a Master's in Global Public Health from Tulane University, and a Master's in Science in Midwifery from Columbia University. With nearly two decades of experience providing full-scope midwifery care in New York City and New Haven, CT, Dr. Telfer is actively involved in advancing midwifery education and clinical excellence, particularly in collaboration with Makerere University in Uganda to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes.
