Michael S. Roth

Michael S. Roth serves as the 16th president of Wesleyan University, bringing expertise in intellectual history and cultural studies to his leadership role. A Wesleyan alumnus who completed his PhD at Princeton University, he has authored numerous influential books including "Beyond the University: Why Liberal Education Matters" and "Safe Enough Spaces." His scholarly work spans psychoanalysis, memory studies, and educational philosophy, while his curatorial achievements include the landmark Freud exhibition at the Library of Congress.
