University of Colorado BoulderDr. Michael Readey is a faculty member in the Engineering Management Program at the University of Colorado Boulder, having joined in 2016 after a 25-year career in industry, where he worked with both large multinational corporations and small engineering firms. His expertise spans the development of innovative materials technologies and transforming early-stage R&D into profitable ventures while addressing complex organizational, technical, and regulatory challenges. A passionate environmentalist, Dr. Readey focuses on creating engineered solutions that promote carbon-free energy, cleaner air, and water. He aims to instill principles of sustainability and regeneration in his students to prepare them for socially and environmentally responsible leadership roles. Dr. Readey holds a B.S. and M.S. in Ceramic Engineering from Ohio State University, a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Case Western Reserve University, and business management certificates from Northwestern University and Bradley University. He has published over 42 papers, edited two books, obtained four patents, and delivered more than 250 presentations globally on materials technology, emissions catalyst systems, and corporate sustainability. Outside of academia, he enjoys gardening and cycling around Boulder, Colorado.
