Dr. Michael Gisondi is an Associate Professor and the inaugural Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University. He is the founder of The Precision Education and Assessment Research Lab (The PEARL) and co-director of the Scholarly Concentration in Medical Education. As a consultant psychiatrist at Melbourne Health, Dr. Gisondi has a robust background in medical education research, particularly focusing on the application of social media in medical training. He serves on the editorial boards of Academic Life in Emergency Medicine and the International Clinician Educators Blog, and is an associate editor for the textbook Emergency Medicine. Dr. Gisondi has received numerous teaching awards, including the National Faculty Teaching Award from the American College of Emergency Physicians, and he was recognized as Alumnus of the Year by Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 2014. He teaches the course Teaching LGBTQ+ Health, aiming to enhance understanding and inclusivity in medical education and practice.
