Meng He serves as a Professor and Director of the Department of Animal Science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University's College of Agriculture and Biology. His academic journey includes degrees from prestigious institutions: a PhD from Northeast Agricultural University, master's and bachelor's degrees from Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, and postdoctoral research in biomedical engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His teaching excellence is evidenced by his course "History of the Development of Life Sciences," which achieved multiple recognitions including designation as a core general education course (2008), Shanghai Municipal Education Commission key course (2011), and one of SJTU's first MOOC courses (2013). His research focuses on animal genomics and host-intestinal microbial interactions, leading over 20 major research projects including National High-tech Research and Development Program (863 Program) initiatives. He has published more than 70 papers in leading journals including Nature Communications and Scientific Reports. His academic contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including SJTU's first prize for general education contribution (2013) and outstanding teaching awards (2008-2009, 2013-2014). His international experience includes visiting scholarships at Virginia Tech and the Netherlands Organization for Applied Sciences (TNO), enhancing his global perspective in animal science research and education.
