Meine Pieter van Dijk

Dr. Meine Pieter van Dijk is a distinguished economist and Professor of Urban Management in Emerging Economies at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. He also holds the position of Professor of Water Services Management at the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in Delft. With a PhD in Economics from the Free University Amsterdam, Dr. van Dijk has extensive experience working in developing countries since 1973, serving as a consultant for various organizations, including NGOs, the Asian Development Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the World Bank. He is a member of the research school CERES and has contributed significantly to urban management and development through his research and teaching. His expertise encompasses sustainable urban development, infrastructure financing, and water services management, making him a key figure in addressing urban challenges in emerging economies. Dr. van Dijk is also involved in educational initiatives, including courses on financing infrastructure in African cities, aimed at enhancing knowledge and skills in urban management.
