ETH ZurichMatthew Walter is an associate professor at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago, where he directs the Robot Intelligence through Perception Laboratory. He earned his Ph.D. in Robotics from MIT in 2007 and served as a research scientist at MIT until 2014. Walter’s research focuses on developing intelligent robots that can understand and interact with their environments and people, with expertise in probabilistic robotics, computer vision, and natural language understanding. He has contributed to courses such as "Self-Driving Cars with Duckietown" (ETHx), advancing both robotics research and education.
