Stanford UniversityDr. Matthew Strehlow serves as Professor and Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he leads transformative initiatives in global healthcare delivery. As Director of Stanford Emergency Medicine International (SEMI), he has pioneered revolutionary emergency care systems across Asia and Africa, most notably developing India's largest prehospital care network serving over 750 million people through GVK EMRI. His research portfolio spans critical areas including emergency care epidemiology in low and middle-income countries, maternal-child health systems, and innovative healthcare worker training programs. Through partnerships with WHO and Stanford's Digital Medic initiative, he has created groundbreaking online medical education programs reaching healthcare providers in over 170 countries. Dr. Strehlow's work in Cambodia has been particularly impactful, where he helped establish national EMS guidelines and an integrated hospital referral network for maternal care across half the country.
