Dr. Matthew Lorincz, M.D., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Michigan, where he serves as Co-Director of the Sports Neurology clinic, Michigan NeuroSport, and Co-Director of the Michigan Concussion Center. He earned his MD and PhD from Wayne State University and completed his residency and fellowship training at the University of Michigan. Dr. Lorincz specializes in sports neurology, focusing on the treatment of acute concussions, their long-term consequences, and the management of neurological disorders in athletes.In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Lorincz teaches the "Michigan Sport-Related Concussion Training Certification" course on Coursera, which equips healthcare professionals with essential knowledge for effectively managing sports-related concussions. His research interests include optimizing recovery from concussion and understanding its long-term effects. As a team physician for various sports organizations, including USA Hockey and the US Ski and Snowboard Association, Dr. Lorincz is dedicated to advancing athlete safety through comprehensive education and research in sports neurology.
