Matteo V. Rocco is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Energy at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, where he contributes to the Sustainable Energy System Analysis and Modelling group (SESAM). His previous roles include Senior Associate Researcher at Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) from 2018 to 2020, Assistant Professor (RTD-A) at Politecnico di Milano from 2017 to 2019, post-doctoral fellow at the same institution from 2015 to 2016, and Visiting Researcher at the Centre for Energy Resources and Consumption (CIRCE) in Zaragoza, Spain, in 2013. Dr. Rocco teaches the Ph.D. course on “Resource Planning and Management within Sustainable Development” as part of the Energy and Nuclear Technology Science (STEN) program. His research focuses on developing integrated and multi-scale energy models to define future development scenarios at the national level while assessing related Life Cycle impacts. Dr. Rocco has received several accolades, including the “Wassily Leontief Memorial Prize” from the International Input-Output Association for the best paper presented at the 27th International Input-Output Conference in Glasgow in 2019 and the “Premio Giovani Ricercatori LCA” for the best paper at the fifth scientific congress of the Rete Italiana LCA in Ravenna in 2016.
